A Galveston Saturday

Yesterday Lauren and I made the 45 minute trip to Galveston to enjoy all that it had to offer. We hiked some trails in Galveston Island State Park, went to Goodwill, walked the sea wall, ate some good food, and finished the night up at the Art Walk downtown. Oh and along the way we took a few pictures, so enjoy!

My first attempt at long exposures of water. It was a little difficult with my cheap tripod and hand-holding my ND filter, but next time I will be more prepared.

Africa Flashback

I wanted to share some more of my old pictures, so I decided another flashback was in order. These are from a trip to Sierra Leone in the summer of 2009. I was there for almost a month helping a doctor treat fistulas; if you are interested in learning more about the program you can  visit http://www.westafricafistulafoundation.org/. This trip was one of the main reasons that I bought a dslr and got into photography. My equipment at the time included a Canon rebel XS, 18-55mm stock lens, and a 55-250mm Canon telephoto.

This man obviously lacked attention to detail. You might say that maybe he can't read, but come on... someone even drew him a picture.

Collections of Reflections... and others

View from my apartment balcony after MD Anderson demolished one of their old building in the Med Center. You can watch a video of it here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEsGtlmVPGI
